Woodstock Wine will take up Premier Weatherill’s latest call to make South Australia’s live music scene bigger and better by hosting country star Beccy Cole this August.
A first for the winery, Woodstock’s Coterie Restaurant will be transformed into an intimate live music venue for one night only.
Managing Director Scott Collett says he fully supports Premier Weatherill’s initiative.
“This issue is not just relevant for the Adelaide CBD,” Scott said. “ I believe we should amp up our live music in our regional centres as well.
“McLaren Vale already has the sea, food and wine – it’s time we strengthened our offering with music,” he said.
Recently taking home two Golden Guitars at the 2012 40th Jayco Country Music Awards of Australia, Beccy is regarded as one of Australia’s most outstanding live performers.
She will be performing in McLaren Vale days after her performance with country music legend Kenny Rogers on August 29 and is expected to give an insight into working with the great man in this intimate concert.
“We asked Beccy to kick off our first concert because she resonates with the Australian audience. She’s one of the favourite daughters of the country music scene, with a wicked sense of humour,” Scott said.
Beccy is looking forward to spending time in one of the world’s most famous wine regions.
“After meeting Scott and tasting his wines aboard Cruisin’ Country, he invited me perform at Woodstock. We were delighted to accept and we’re really looking forward to a great cabaret style dinner and show,” said Beccy.
Woodstock’s Beccy Cole concert will be held on August 31, supported by Lyn Bowtell.
Tickets for the dinner and show are strictly limited.
Bookings can be made through Woodstock on 08 8383 0156.
